Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a major cause of mortality in the cardiovascular system worldwide, with cardiac rhythm aberrations being a leading cause of death among these patients.Various arrhythmias have been reported in AMI, but atrial flutter with variable block has been rarely described in the literature. Here, we Floss present the case of a 61-year-old male who arrived with acute onset chest pain and ST-segment elevation in the inferior leads, along with atrial flutter with a variable block on electrocardiography. He was diagnosed with acute inferior wall myocardial infarction and initially treated with tenecteplase reperfusion therapy, which completely resolved the rhythm disturbance.Subsequently, the LED Camping Light patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right coronary artery, leading to complete recovery.
This case highlights a rare rhythm complication of AMI and its effective management with thrombolysis.
